Kazuno City, Akita Prefecture, is located in the northeastern part of Akita Prefecture, and is a city rich in nature surrounded by the Ou Mountains. Because the mountain range looks like a hedge, the poet Takuboku Ishikawa wrote a poem about it as ``the land of deer antlers that rises above Mt. Aogaki.'' Location
鹿角市の中心部にあたる花輪盆地は米代川の流域である。花輪盆地には、花輪・十和田の市街地が形成されている。また、八幡平地域など山がちな地域や複数の温泉郷、大沼地熱発電所なども存在する。冬は降雪量が多く、特別豪雪地帯に指定されている。ツキノワグマの出没地としても昨今は有名に。
Hanawa Basin, located in the center of Kazuno City, is the basin of the Yoneshiro River. The urban areas of Hanawa and Towada are formed in the Hanawa Basin. It is also home to mountainous areas such as the Hachimantai region, several hot spring villages, and the Onuma geothermal power plant. Due to its heavy snowfall, it has been designated as a particularly heavy snowfall area.It has recently become famous as a place where Asiatic black bears can be found.
花輪盆地位於和野市中心，是米城川的分水嶺。花輪和十和田兩大城區均坐落於花輪盆地內。盆地內也分佈著八幡平地區等山區、數個溫泉度假勝地以及大沼地熱發電廠。冬季降雪量豐富，被指定為特大雪區。近年來，這裡也因棲息著亞洲黑熊而聞名。
History
古くは「上津野」と表記していた。江戸時代には南部藩に属していたという歴史を持つ鹿角。そのため、県内では珍しい食文化や伝統が残る地域でもあります。4000年前の縄文時代後期ストーンサークルも発掘された神秘的な地域です。

Industry
「北限の桃」やりんご、稲作が盛んな地域。広大な面積で放牧される短角牛「かづの牛」や「八幡平ポーク」の畜産業。また、大沼地熱発電所や熊沢水力発電所のように、自然エネルギー産業も盛ん。1300年の歴史、1978年に閉山した尾去沢鉱山は日本有数の銅山でした。
